Oliver Andrews

I cannot believe that this little monkey is nearly 1. He is AMAZING.

Ministry of Sound

These are a couple of flyers that I shot for MOS with Tom Sewell who works for Ministry.
We had a bit of a tricky concept, shooting mirrors and then obviously he's done some cool post production to them.
You can see some more work from the Design Studio Tom works for:

Gene Doucette

I just had the pleasure of taking pictures of Gene Doucette, who designed Elvis Presley's stage costumes. He was an absolute hoot, and his designs are out of this world. He made me try the Eagle Jumpsuit on, and I have never worn anything so amazing. I am just trying to work out how it becomes a look for 2010 (Definitely with neck scarf)
Anyway, here are a couple of Shots of Gene and Myself, with an original sketch of the suit... Gene loved the fact that it actually fit into it.

Retro Moment - Madonna Vanity Fair 1992

I was at my parents over Christmas, and my Ma has been on my case to get rid of my secretly stored magazines, hidden for years in the attic.
Obviously I have no intention of getting rid of them, and I found my copy of Vanity Fair from 1992, that I was convinced had been nicked.
So, this is what it looks like inside.

You can see more from every issue afterwards here:

What I am reading at the moment

I'm working my way through Nicky Haslam's Biography at the moment... it's a revelation.
You can see some of his work below and here: http://www.nh-design.co.uk/

I have just ordered City Boy by Edmund White... very excited about this.
If you get a chance to read The Flaneur, it will definitely make you want to have a romantic weekend in Paris.

Love The story of the Night... Buenos Aires is definitely on my list of places to visit 2010.

Luke Smalley - Sunday Drive

Luke Smalley passed away at the end of last year, aged 50.
He had a beautiful vision of small town America, and I just bought his last published book:
Here are a couple of images from Sunday Drive.

You can see some more images here: http://www.pdnphotooftheday.com/2009/11/2524

The book is published by Twin Palm Publishers: http://www.twinpalms.com/

V Man

Just got the new copy of VMan from my reliable Newsagent. Its a pain that Borders has closed down, because even though it sometimes took them weeks to get new editions in, at least they eventually got them.

I digress...

I was at Somerset House the day Nick Knight was shooting some of the editorial for his VMan shoot, so here are a couple of the behind the scenes. We werent allowed to shoot with flash, hence the reason they are so dark, but they look kind of cool.

Nick was doing these amazing gestures for the models, moulding himself into these unusual shapes to give them inspiration.

If you get the chance to see the ShowStudio exhibition, you must, it is AWESOME.

Pentax 6x7

Just got back to work and this little puppy was waiting to be opened on my desk.
I have wanted a Pentax 6x7 for A G E S.
Really looking forward to testing with it in January.
I'll post first results as soon as I have them.

Playing with light

Here are a couple of test shots from a project for LCF... a different route eventually, but might come back to this with a few tweaks.
